Raising skill sets of young men
The Achievement Academy (AA) is an enrichment/mentoring program that begins in October of each year and concludes in June. This allows for synchronization with the academic year. Sessions, which run for ninety minutes, are scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month. Participants convene at the Kappa Achievement Center, 5521 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144.
The Achievement Academy provides multifaceted mentoring, counseling and training programs, which assist African American male youth from
12 to 18 years of age. Our primary focus is on the development of life skills and educational accomplishment. The Achievement Academy serves as a vehicle to allow our students to learn about key life related topics that are not incorporated in the traditional school curriculum. The program provides the students with knowledge and tools that will allow them to excel in the classroom and in the real world. The topics they learn will provide them with a strong foundation for them, as they become responsible adults.
